It’s the golden anniversary for one of the most iconic shows in the annals of television.

Carol Burnett was front-and-center among a laundry list of celebrities to honor the 50th anniversary of her comedy program, The Carol Burnett Show, at CBS Television City in Los Angeles on Tuesday, taped for a future special in two months.

The 84-year-old comedy icon did her trademark tug of the ear as she posed for pictures on the red carpet, in a black gown with a lacy top and black flats, sporting her short auburn locks.

A number of Carol’s co-stars were snapped at the event, including Vicki Lawrence and  Lyle Waggoner, as well as show business stalwarts such as Jay Leno, Harry Connick Jr., Tom Selleck and Pat Boone.

Also seen on the red carpet included stars such as Kaley Cuoco, Jane Lynch, Tracee Ellis Ross, Beth Behrs, Kristin Chenoweth and Bill Hader, among others.

The variety show – which co-starred Lawrence, Waggoner, Tim Conway and the late Harvey Korman, aired on CBS from September 11, 1967 until March 29, 1978.

The event, which was held on the same Stage 33 where it was initially filmed, was set to include a Q&A with Carol and more.

‘The Carol Burnett Show was a comedy showcase that was years ahead of its time,’ CBS chairman and CEO Leslie Moonves said last month in a statement, adding that ‘if social media existed then, clips from the broadcast would have quickly gone viral.

‘We are very proud of the show’s significant place in [CBS’s] legacy, as well as in television history, and we look forward to this prime-time celebration of incredible talent, led by the incomparable Carol Burnett.’
